You get to the CommBattle Main Screen after you select the type of battle, perform GPS & Compass calibration (if needed) and select the weapons and artifacts for the battle.
You will be spending most of your game time interacting with the Main Screen.
At the top of the Main Screen, is the game console, which will alert you to various activities during the game. You will also see the FIRE (or sometimes USE) button in the right top corner. Use this button to fire the currently selected weapon or to use the currently selected artifact (for more detail, see the detailed weapon/item descriptions below).
At the center of the Main Screen, is the Battle Radar which displays the positions of other players
(relative to your position, which is in the center of the Battle Radar).
Other players are viewable either in Map Mode or Radar Mode
(switch between modes with the Switch Modes
button).
Radar Mode is an opaque view of the players and immediate
items around you and is faster with frequent screen refreshing,
while Map Mode displays the game field as an actual
satellite map of the neighborhood.
You can also Zoom In/Zoom Out
/
,
as well as Zoom To All
active players.
Various zones and weapon damage sectors are depicted with
half-transparent colors (e.g. missile range circle or small arms sector).
The center of the game field is marked with a yellow filled circle,
while the border of the battle field is a blue circle.
Players should stay within the area limited by this blue battle
field border, otherwise the ability to use any weapons and artifacts is
lost once outside the battle field.
At the bottom of the Main Screen, are Item and Category Change Buttons, the Battle Timer and quick battle/round statistics showing a player's Frag Points scored, and the amount of health and armor (shield).
Select or Change the Current Active Weapon, by first selecting Item and Category, and then a weapon within a subcategory.
You can view categories in both forward and backward directions by using up-down, left-right, down-up and right-left touch gestures (whichever you find convenient).
If you tap Item Change button and hold your tap for 1 second, you will be able to see the full list of available items within a selected category and select an item without having to view the whole list.
By selecting the MENU button on the Main Screen, one can view a list of current players at the bottom of the Main Screen. You can also see their pins, avatars and Frag Scores earned since the inception of the current battle (sorted from the highest to lowest score). Players in Manual Mode are marked with a "joystick" icon. The player list will disappear when you hit the phone MENU button again.
