In order to make the gaming experience even more interesting, CommBattle will introduce 3 types of AI-powered bot players. At the moment in CommBattle Deathmatch Beta, all bots operate on Level 1; however, in the future, more powerful bots are likely to be introduced.
Whenever a new battle is begun, a predefined number of random bots are
generated automatically. As other players join the battle room (and when there
is no more room left in the battle room), the bots will start to leave and
will become replaced by real players. Whenever real players leave the battle
room, however, the bots will "come back" - which keeps game play interesting
and makes sure that players are always involved (practicing their fighting
skills) even when there are no real opponents in the public battle room
(or when waiting for other players to join them in the private battle room).
Bots come in the following 3 varieties:
Missile bot. This bot is powered with basic missiles only. It can be destroyed either with missiles or small arms. This bot can apply anti-missile evasion movements from time to time, and will be hard to approach for a small arms shot.
Small arms bot. This bot is powered with basic small arms only. It is very efficient against your missiles and other players as well. However, it can attack only from a small arms distance and usually runs out of ammo pretty fast.
Kamikaze bot. This bot is twice as fast and almost four times as strong as the other two bots (they typically have twice the health and a full shield); However, kamikaze bots do not have any weapons. Their only goal is to approach the target as fast as possible and explode, destroying itself as well as the target. When playing against kamikaze bots, keep your distance and attack them continually.
Once you correctly determine the type of bot you are fighting, you can then decide on the tactics to use.
A CommBattle Deathmatch Release will allow you to "hire" bots to play (and score) for you for a certain period of time - the bots would play against other players when you're offline or they might offer you limited support when playing in the same battle alongside you.
